Singapore driving licenses are valid in Germany. You are allowed to use it for six months and later have to make a German license. Here comes the tricky part, you must hold a valid Singapore license during your first registration in Germany.

- Get your license translated to German language. This can be done at ADAC centers with cost of EUR 55 (check current fees at ADAC website). It normally takes 1 or 2 weeks to get the translation. Original foreign driving license is required to collect the translation from ADAC center.
- go to to the local driving licence authority
- hand in the following documents:
- an official identity document of the applicant (identity card or passport)
- original valid foreign driving license
- Translated license document from ADAC
- a certificate of registration from the Residents' Registration Office (Anmeldung)
- You can book an appointment or can walking to the driving license authority
- Fill the application form and pay 35 euros as fees
- Submit the application and you will be notified within 6 weeks at your address.
Note: For Singapore license holders, there is no requirement for theory, practical driving lessons. Also there is no need to attend first aid course (Erste Hilfe Kurs) and eye tests.
The process is very easy and fast to exchange the Singapore license to German license (führerschein).
